Inglenook Dresser meets black hole! by robinfurlong

Transforming a former Aga alcove, brings new life and elegance to the hallway of a beautiful Cotswold Farmhouse. At a loss as to how to make use of the black-hole left in remodelling their home, Robin Furlong’s client turned to him for a solution. Through discussion and drawings an elegant and purposeful Dresser was created. The design picks up details from the room’s door panel mouldings and architraves and the parquetry back panel with its 450 hand cut triangles is inspired by a table top in the lounge. The architrave form is again used in the Furlong recessed door handles. The oak was fumed and polished with a hard oil finish, giving a natural lustre to blend with its surroundings.
